A few minutes of my wife and I riding my 2004 Kawasai Vulcan 1500 in Western Pennsylvania, on our way from Pittsburgh to Ohiopyle State Park. This clip is a sped-up clip of a beautiful back road called Bear Rock Road.

Impulse Jackets for Motorcycle Safety

Rear-end collisions with motorcycles are pretty common.  Cagers just don’t see us.  While I haven’t seen these in action, the idea of increasing visibility by putting lights on my riding jacket and helmet is awesome.

Touring Motorcycles Suck

I despise touring motorcycles. In Florida these are, by far, the most common motorcycle you see on the road, almost always manned by a middle-aged man looking pretty damned smug and sure of himself.  Why do I despise them so much?  Let me iterate through my reasons: They are almost always ridden by middle-aged men […]

Leesburg Bikefest 2013

I say it every year; the Leesburg Bikefest motorcycle rally is the best Florida rally there is.  It is better than Daytona, if less well-known. I rode to the rally this morning solo.  The Binary Princess is in Phoenix, AZ visiting a close friend.  The kids stayed at home.  I was, for the first time […]

Binary’s New Ride!

Yes – the Binary Biker finally has a new ride. Just in time for Daytona Bike Week 2012! My old ride, the 1992 Honda Nighthawk CB750 has served me well.  It has seen me through the toughest phases of my life, but she was a small bike and after my ride to Kentucky and back, […]

Daytona Biketoberfest 2011

The weekend is over and the results are in: Biketoberfest 2011 was a success.  4 our of 5 drunk bikers agree.  I rode to Daytona on Saturday with my lovely wife, Carey, and my very, very good friend John.  On Sunday I rode by myself and met up with another good friend, Jaime, and his […]
